Botulinum Toxin is a prescription-only medicine and must be prescribed to every individual person. We'll discuss your skin goals and go over your medical history, along with the very minimal but potential risks of having this treatment. There is no obligation to have treatment following this consultation.

What is it?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe, non-invasive way to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, especially those caused by facial expressions such as forehead lines, frown lines and ‘crows feet’ around the eyes.

Who is it for?
Anti-wrinkle is for anyone looking to reduce lines and wrinkles caused by their facial expressions. My technique takes the edge off these muscles to allow the skin to smooth out, whilst still maintaining a natural look. I treat clients from their late 20s onwards. I will not be able to treat anyone with the following: Myasthenia Gravis, allergy to Botulinum Toxin, any neuromuscular disorder, pregnant or breastfeeding women, allergy to human albumin

How does it work?
Anti-wrinkle works by blocking nerve signals to the targeted muscles, preventing them from contracting and causing wrinkles. The result is smoother, more youthful-looking skin. It takes 14 days for it to settle and work fully, therefore I ask for this initial time to pass before your top up, then you have a further 2-week window to have any top ups, or adjustments.

When will I see results & how long does it last?
Results are usually seen within 2 weeks (sooner for most) and results last on average 12 weeks, although can last upto 6 months for some people.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Before your anti-wrinkle appointment, avoid taking blood-thinning medications or supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil) to reduce the risk of bruising. It's also a good idea to avoid an excessive amount of alcohol the night before to reduce the risk of bruising.
Ensure you are well-hydrated and have eaten a snack before your treatment, as this will help with the healing process and ensure you have regulated blood sugar.
While Botox generally allows for a quick return to normal activities, it's advisable to schedule the treatment when you can allow for a bit of downtime afterwards, especially if there is any initial swelling or bruising.
THE TREATMENT ITSELF
The treatment itself is very quick. I’ll begin by taking your before photos. These do not get posted anywhere (unless I have prior consent), but are for your client record so we can look back and make note of your changes - it’s very satisfying seeing the improvements!
Then I’ll clean and disinfect your skin on the relevant treatment areas. After this I’ll mark you up using a special pen that is easily removed after treatment. I’ll get you to pull certain facial expressions depending on the treatment you are having in order to mark my injection sites. I’ll then get you to lie down so I can see where your veins are.
The treatment is very quick and feels like a “sharp scratch” (which I’ll always say as I inject so I don’t surprise you!)
Afterwards I'll clean the areas and then get you to sit up as I go through your aftercare.
Aftercare
The 4 Hour Rule:

Exercise your treated muscles for the 4 hours hour after your anti-wrinkle treatment (this will work the product into your muscles)

Do not lie down for 4 hours after treatment

Avoid any exposure to a sauna, hot baths/showers or tanning for 4 hours

Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours

Keep head upright if picking anything up from floor

Do not drink alcohol, eat spicy foods or exercise for 4 hours

Do not rub the treated area or have a facial for at least 24 hours
It is also worth noting - you may experience a mild headache after treatment, if this does happen you may take Paracetamol as needed.
